Hello! I am still in Malawi. We take the boat tonight. This is just a quick email before I run away to the bush:) I am in major shock, trying to get my head around the fact that I will be here for 6 months!!! AHH!!! I am already burnt like a fool, but the mosquitoes don't seem to like me-not a bite yet! Which is good since I guess Malaria is a real problem.

I am anticipating my arrival in Manda. Patrick has been great and I have a MUCH better idea what I am getting into, and don't worry I am still excited:) I really hope the radio email is working ok when we are out there. I guess there have been a few problems... I can already tell that there are always problems, nothing moves quickly or smoothly--takes some getting use to but I love it!

Mom, you would die if you saw where I was! This what is left of the real Africa. I am so lucky to be here. I can't thank Patrick enough. He has been great, helpful and kind. I have met almost all the white Malawi population:) He reminds me a lot of Kai in Namibia.

Anyway, I gotta run. We still need to do the shopping and pick up cement.

I love you all and miss you all!!!!
